Rome Flynn pulled double duty this week with the season finale of How to Get Away with Murder and the premire of A Madea Family Funeral.

Earlier this week, the former daytime soap actor stopped by the studio to talk about his various projects and working with such an accomplished cast.

Flynn also shared his upcoming projects, what he learned from Viola Davis and how Tyler Perry is the real MVP.

Steve McQueen’s heist thriller Widows hits theaters this Friday and the Oscar winner stopped by the studio to discuss the film and its poltical themes.

McQueen says he was very strategic in picking his cast which which includes Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Erivo and Elizabeth Debicki.

The director also dished on the reason behind the significant breaks between films, what he hopes to do next and why it always important to have the perfect cast for his projects.

2015 has been an awesome year for black actors.

And the hits keep on coming as actress Viola Davis made history last night as the first Black woman to win the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as a defense lawyer on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder”.

Congratulations are in order for actresses Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Both actresses received Oscar nominations for their work in “The Help.”

Spencer has won the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Movie Award for her performance, as well as the National Board of Review honor as a member of the ensemble of the film. She’s also in contention for BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild awards.

Last night actresses Viola Davis, Paula Patton and Octavia Spencer were visions of Black beauty at The Golden Globes. Octavia Spencer took home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for her role in “The Help.”


Viola Davis wears a wine-colored, one-shoulder dress by Emilio Pucci.


In addition to Octavia Spencer, Morgan Freeman was honored with the Cecille B. DeMille Award for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”. English actor Idris Elba didn’t go home alone. Elba won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.


Paula Patton wears a cadmium yellow silk strapless dress by Monique Lhuillier.


Elba’s “Luther” is a must see.
