Joell Ortiz is next in line to freestyle over the “Cashin’ Out” instrumental, and I must say he does better than most that have tried. Tagged up by Funk Flex for now.


MSDTV was in the building last week, for Rocawear’s exclusive freestyle session, where guests were invited to experience the live taping and recording of the first “That’s Rocawear” Mixtape. The event featured celebrity DJ, D-Nice, was hosted by Power 105’s Charlamagne tha God, and included performances by MCs, Joelle Ortiz and Wordspit.

On Tuesday, June 14th,  MSDTV caught up with BET and their host Buttahman to feature up-and-coming hot new artists in the next big wave of superstars for their Music Matters series which was held at Drom in the Lower East Side.  The venue provided an intimate setting for lovers of music to catch an exclusive look at who BET chose for their next batch of potential hitmakers.  Performers included, None, Mateo, Phil Ade, Allen Stone, as well as an appearance by hip-hop icon DJ Premier and Slaughterhouse member, Joell Ortiz.

Today, Liza Rios voiced her thoughts on facebook about Joell Ortiz’s tribute to Big Pun in his song, “Big Pun’s Back”.

According to Mrs. Rios, the song was “disrespectful” and Ortiz will never be the next Big Pun as Pun’s “only son [Christopher Lee Rios] should Be the ONLY one to claim that BIG PUN is back, [and] can fill his shoes”.
