Singer Etta James has passed at the age of 73. James battled leukemia and a blood infection during her last days. Over the course of her career she went through bouts of addiction but was able to earn six Grammys. In 1993 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. James’ soul stirring cover of “At Last” has been a favorite at weddings for years and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. She was portrayed by Beyonce in the 2008 film “Cadillac Records”.
Etta James is survived by her son Donto James and husband Artis Mills.
