Bishop Eddie Long and his New Birth Birth Missionary Baptist Church are under scrutiny once again.
They plan to hold their annual Spirit and Truth Conference in the Bahamas this year, but Bishop Eddie Long’s former secret gay lover, Centino Kemp, doesn’t want him any where near the island..  (more…)

This morning Bishop Eddie Long delivered some shocking news to his congregation at New Birth Missionary Church in Lithonia, Ga — which to many was almost inevitable since learning about his ongoing molestation charges.

According to the Bishop, his personal matters needeed attending as he’s decided to step away from the church so that he can use the time to heal his family:

“I’m still your pastor. You’ll still receive my direction,” Long said Sunday. “You’ve given me some weeks to take care of some family business.”

As reported by MSDTV, Long’s wife, Vanessa, filed for divorce late Thursday afternoon. She said Friday morning she had changed her mind but by day’s end announced the divorce was on.

Long, his two children, and his wife Vanessa standing by his side, said Sunday he’s “still here,” adding he’s “stepped up and hasn’t stepped down.”

It has been an ongoing saga for the pastor as he was sued in a September 2010 lawsuit by former New Birth members Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris and Maurice Robinson, who alleged the bishop used his influence, trips, gifts and jobs to coerce them into sexual relationships.

The suit was settled in May after months of mediation, but with new evidence and accusers seemingly coming out of the woodwork, this case may never truly be resolved for the Bishop.

Of course, MSDTV will keep you posted. Stay tuned.

Everyone woman has their breaking point in life and with the multiple cases of molestation charged against her husband, Bishop Eddie Long, Elder Vanessa Long has reached the point of no return.

Throughout the extremely public proceedings, Vanessa Long managed to stay in quiet support of husband Eddie Long, who seemingly had a consistent slew of accusations charged against him for having relationships and coercing young boys into having sex with him through monetary gifts and items. Interestingly, Long has continued to vehemently deny all the accusations — even as the evidence still piles up against him.

But now with evidence being almost insurmountable, the alleged victims speaking out, and Eddie agreeing to a settlement, Vanessa Long has decided to part ways with her husband of 21 years. The couple have 3 children together.

Yesterday, she went to the Dekalb County Clerk’s office in the Atlanta area and filed the official paperwork. According to close friends, she is no longer attending New Birth and now attends Bishop Dale Bronner’s church, Word of Faith Family Worship cathedral.

In a statement to the press this morning, Vanessa says she wants this matter solved quickly and wants privacy:

“After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011.

It is my sincere hope that this matter can be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously and fairly. I ask that you respect my privacy and that of my family, as my attorneys and I have agreed that we will not try this case in the media, and I do not intend to make any further statements concerning this matter.”

I have a feeling this is still the beginning of the drama in this family. Of course, MSDTV will keep you posted, stay tuned.

Bishop Eddie Long can’t seem to keep his self out of trouble as another lawsuit was filed against the pastor for allegedly scheming his church folks out of millions of dollars.

According to the Atlantic Journal-Constitution, the allegations stated in the lawsuit, stem from a three-day investment seminar Long held at the church in October 2009, at which church members were encouraged to invest in a company named City Capital Corporation, according to the suit. SMH.

The company’s then-CEO, Ephren Taylor, attended and was heralded by Long, attorney Jason Doss told the AJC. Doss, of Marietta, and attorney Quinton Seay are co-counsels in the suit.

“I am responsible for everyone I bring before you and what they say,” Long had said at the seminar, according to the lawsuit. “The gentleman that I am going to bring before you is an ordained minster. That gives me great pride to bring him for you.”

You definitely are RESPONSIBLE pastor. SMH.

Unfortunately earlier this year Bishop Eddie Long and the New Missionary Baptist Church were in a dispute with five young men who accused him of sexual coercion. They ended up making a financial settlement.

The settlement did not only include a financial pay off but the parties involved were not allowed to speak or go public about the incident.

It seems as if three parties involved, Jamal Parris, Spencer LeGrande and Centino Kemp could not stick to that agreement.  Spencer Legrande spoke on his financial settlement:

“I’m going to tell the world – money does not buy happiness. When you sleep at night, the problems are still there. The money stuff, who cares about the number. I feel like burning the money.”

This has caused Bishop Eddie long and his legal aid Drew Eckl & Farnham to try and recover almost 900,000$ from the three men!

According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the firm is seeking at least $900,000 already paid the three accusers. That figure is a portion of the total settlement with the three men.

Financial terms of that settlement have not been disclosed but, based on the letter and the fact each of the young men were paid equitably, the total comes to at least $1.5 million.

The letter outlines the plaintiffs’ “demand for arbitration” though no legal documents have yet been filed.” Will this ever end?

Bishop Eddie Long is offering one his accusers a get out jail free pass.

According to WSB-TV, accuser Anthony Boyd escaped burglary charges when the Bishop refused to testify against him. Boyd was among four men who accused the preacher of convincing them to have sex with them in exchange of lavish living. The young man was accused of stealing over $100,000 worth of the pastor’s belongings. But now the charges have been dropped.

“While I understand the there may be evidence to support a prosecution, I believe in forgiveness and the opportunity for second chances,” Long wrote, according to WSB-TV.

Sounds suspicious? MSDTV thinks so. Let us know what you think the Bishop is really up to.
