Jay-Z’s New York City nightclub, the 40/40 turned 10 last night, and of course the Hip Hop mogul celebrated the anniversary in style. MSDTV’s one and only, Ms. Drama hit the scene, snagging all the best party highlights…
On Wednesday, September 12th MSDTV received an all access pass to Jay-Z’s private Duracell Powermat launch event at the 40/40 Club. Of course the Drama Queen herself has the full scoop including exclusive photos, the new technology and of course the featured “powerhouse” cocktails.
Jay-Z’s 40/40 club is back and better than ever. The rapper and entrepreneur spent $10 million dollars renovating the space on 25th Street in New York City. Hova will have an invite-only affair on January 18th to toast the reopening of the sports bar and lounge he opened with longtime friend and business partner Juan Perez in 2003. The general public will have to wait a day later.

Besides becoming a father – and dealing with the possible spilt from his powerhouse pop star princess Rihanna, Jigga just inherited a rat problem.
As seen in the photo above, five union rats have popped up in front the 40/40 Club. Why you ask?
Well according to NY.Curbed.com — who reported the story — a recent e-mail explains exactly what the giant rats stand for. The email states:
“A rat is a contractor that does not pay all of its employees the Area Standard Wages, including either providing or making payments for family health care and pension benefits. Shame on the 40/40 CLUB & Shawn Carter aka Jay Z for contributing to the erosion of area standards for New York City Carpenters. The New York City District Council of Carpenters has a labor dispute with A&V Drywall which is performing work at 6 West 25th Street in NYC. 40/40 CLUB & Shawn Carter aka Jay Z is responsible for hiring CONELLE CONSTRUCTION CORP. Conelle Construction does not meet area labor standards, including providing or fully paying for family health care and pension for all of its carpenter craft employees.”
Dag. Jigga got a serious rodent problem. Hopefully his management team can get it together.
