The New York Knicks Fire Head Coach Derek Fisher, Matt Barnes Responds

After a lackluster year, the New York Knicks have fired head coach Derek Fisher.

And not surprisingly, Matt Barnes has already offered his thoughts…

According to reports the New York Knicks have terminated head coach Derek Fisher after their dismal 23-31 season with nine losses in the past 10 games. Last year’s showing was even worse with only 17 wins and 65 loses.

While most were surprised by the news, player Matt Barnes seems to be enjoying the turn of events. Barnes offered his cryptic message in response.

As reported by MSDTV, Barnes had posted a photo in January with a rant about Fisher going behind his back and dating his estranged wife, Gloria Govan.

It was alleged that in October, Barnes had driven to Govan’s home in Los Angeles and got into a physical confrontation with Fisher.

Barnes was suspended two games for the incident and later fined $35,000 for assaulting the Knick coach. Although he did say he was good friends with Fisher “at one point,” it doesn’t seem like there will be a reconciliation any time soon.

Kurt Rambis will become the interim head coach.
