Rapper Chingy Announces His Support For Donald Trump, Then Recants After Backlash

Kansas City, MO rapper Chingy clearly needs a fact checker in his circle of friends.

The midwest rapper recently tweeted out his support for GOP candidate hopeful Donald Trump, only to later admit that he was unaware that Trump had such negative rhetoric – which he could no longer endorse…

In his initial tweets, Chingy expressed that his endorsement stemmed from agreeing with a few ideas Trump talked about in a news article, mainly Medicare being available for Americans and preventing instances of terrorism in the United States.

After his support went viral – and the backlash overwhelmed his feed, Chingy conveniently revealed that he didn’t side with all of Trump’s recent comments.

“I didn’t know about some of the negative things he had to say about some of the races out here and about the hip-hop community,” he said to Billboard Magazine.

“I didn’t know a lot of the negative things, I was kind of commenting off reading that article and reading some of the good things that he said, so that’s kind of where my comments came from.”

In an effort to shamelessly promote himself clear up his error, Chingy released the video “I DO NOT endorse Donald Trump,” where he then thanks his fans for notifying him of all the controversial statements Trump has made throughout the course of his political run.

“In no way do me and Donald Trump share the same personal views, especially when it comes to minorities, so I do not endorse him.”

Chingy tells Billboard that he plans to be better at fact checking.

“I might follow it a little more, just stay up on it a little more, just to check it out and see what it is I do need to know versus what I don’t know.”

Stay Tuned.
