Weekend Roundup: 135th Agency Annual BBQ x Urbanworld Festival Wrap-Up [Winners]

TV and Media personality Ms. Drama was recently on the scene at the 135th Street Agency’s (an entertainment strategic communications firm) 6th Annual BBQ and Fish Fry at the Mount Morris Park West Courtyard in Harlem.

The 135th Agency Soriee turned out to be a moonlit gathering where attendees sipped on Myx Fusions Moscato, Svedka Vodka, Malibu Red and Belaire Rare Rose and snacked on sweet treats from Tres Chic Cupcakes as well as dished on a BBQ favorites like ribs and fried fish.

Guests included: Yandy Smith (Love & Hip Hop), Sean Malcom (KING Magazine), Ms. Drama (VH1’s Gossip Game), Monee Perry (RCA Records),  Ty Alexander (Hello Beautiful) and other tastemakers and media professionals.


As a end to summer, but a start to the fall work season –  the following weekend brought in the the annual Urbanworld film festival which took place at the AMC theaters on 34th street in Manhattan. Throughout the weekend the festival brought in their star studded casts to promote their projects and offer a Q & A session on their respective films.

Of course we have the exclusive winners list of the narrative feature, documentary feature, documentary short, narrative short, screenplay, teleplay and audience award categories available and a few flicks from the reception.

The five-day festival was held September 18-22 and screened 60 films, including 4 world premieres and 2 U.S. premieres. It  is the largest internationally competitive festival dedicated to the exhibition of independent cinema by and about people of color.
