It looks like former Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has decided to finally come clean about his use of illegal drugs to help enhance his performance and boost his cycling career..

Yesterday, the world renowned athlete apologized to key figures in the cycling community as an effort to prepare himself and others for an upcoming confession about his drug use.

These calls were made partly as a precursor to Monday’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Eurweb.com reports:

An anonymous insider says Armstrong will not discuss specific events but will confess that he took illegal drugs to boost his performance throughout his cycling career, despite years of denials and attacks on his accusers.

The interview will be taped Monday and will air on Thursday on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Since the expected admission raises a host of potential legal and financial issues for Armstrong, it might explain why he won’t go into detail.

Stay Tuned.
