NY State Senator Holds Press Conference To Lash Out At Lil Wayne’s Dislike Of New York

Rapper Lil Wayne is not a fan of the big apple.

And in a recent interview with MTV, the YMCMB head honcho expressed his utter distaste for the ‘City the never sleep’ — which ultimately rubbed one public official the wrong way…

Wayne made the comment to MTV News on Monday evening, saying “Flat out: I don’t like New York,” while attending the launch of his new sneakers line in Las Vegas.

It’s likely that his negative feelings stem from the fact he was arrested after a show in Manhattan in 2007, subsequently pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and spent eight months in Rikers Island prison.

Interestingly enough on State Senator took Weezy’s words to heart.

Senator Malcolm A. Smith, a Democrat, went so far as to call a news conference in Father Duffy Square on Wednesday to denounce Weezy over his remarks, telling the crowd that he was “angry,” “taken aback” and “shocked” by his words.

“I take strong exception to the words ‘I don’t like New York,’” he said before demanding an apology from the rapper. “If you don’t like New York, you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”

So far Lil Wayne,  has yet to responded.

Stay Tuned.
