Last night in NYC, MSDTV received an all access pass to the premier of Spike Lee’s latest film in his “Chronicles of Brooklyn” series — RED HOOK SUMMER.

As expected Spike’s celebrity friends also came out in massive support of the film. Check out the photos after the break.

From the start, it proved to be a monumental night as Spike introduced the film and shouted out his friends and cast mates.

‘Red Hook’ actors, Clarke Peters, Nate Parker, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Jules Brown, Toni Lysaith, Heather Alicia Simms, James Ransone and more — were all smiles throughout the evening, which ended at a festive after-party at Frank’s Lounge in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn.

RED HOOK SUMMER tells the story of Flik Royale, a sullen young boy from middle-class Atlanta who spends the summer with his deeply religious grandfather, Bishop Enoch Rouse, in the housing projects of Red Hook.

The film opens August 10 in New York City and wider on August 24. Visit www.redhooksummer.com for more information.
