You can run, but you can’t hide from your dreadded Uncle Sam.

And celebrities are finding out the hard way on why it’s just better to pay up – then to fight with this demanding Uncle.

Power couple, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have decided to pay up their $492,583.49 tax debt as a rep for the couple recently said they were working to pay it off so that they’re lien can been lifted.

Unfortunately, hip-hop mega-producer Sean Garrett hasn’t learned his lesson from Uncle Sam as the producer currently owes back taxes for the years 2006 and 2007 to the tune of $732,553.57.

And government is tired of waiting for their cash — so they ordered BMI, which collects royalties for artists, to hold all money Garrett makes and turn it over to them.

Lesson: Don’t mess with Uncle Sam – he’ll make sure to get his money.
