Pay Up: Curren$y Sues Damon Dash For 1.3 Million In Damages

Rapper Curren$y’s jet life movement has apparently reached a screeching halt. The Louisiana rapper is taking up a major lawsuit with former Roc-a-fella co-owner Damon Dash over unapproved released music.

Curren$y filed the lawsuit against Dash claiming he tried to negotiate an agreement with the former mogul to release music together in 2010, but the deal never materialized.

Curren$y claims that Dash released two of his albums in 2010 although the two never reached an agreement. Curren$y later signed with Warner Bros. in January 2011.

According to the lawsuit, Dash continued to release music – ignoring Curren$y’s new Warner Bros contract, which gave Warner Bros exclusive rights to his music.

Now, Curren$y is demanding that the former mogul quit profiting off him in any way. He also wants Dash to “pay up” $1.5 million in damages.

Dash has since responded to the lawsuit claiming that he was given permission to release albums and that Curren$y was negligent in that he did not inform the of his new contract – and reneged on their deal.
