Ne-Yo isn’t content being a singer, songwriter, and actor. On Wednesday, March 21st he unveiled his latest talent. As the chief creative director for the new spirit Malibu Red he hosted a V.I.P. launch event at New York City’s Liberty Theater.
Throughout the night Ne-Yo looked on as guests danced to hits mixed by DJ Kiss; nibbled bites including prime steak burgers, tuna tartar, and spring rolls — all while imbibing several specialty cocktails made to showcase the versatility of Malibu Red. Malibu Red is a daring 70-proof blend of Caribbean rum, and silver tequila. Guests were able to choose from a menu with two types of chilled Malibu Red shots, a lemon and lime cocktail, and margarita. Even if you weren’t at the event you can get the recipe to make your own cocktail.
In addition to DJ Kiss, two stilt walkers dressed as Vegas showgirls thrilled the audience as they anticipated Ne-Yo’s performance.
As soon as several dancers with scintillating moves appeared on the bi-level balcony everyone knew Ne-Yo was about to take the stage. Ne-Yo ever the consummate performer launched into fan favorites including “Closer,” “Miss Independent,” and “Because of You.’ Ne-Yo’s latest single “Burning Up” was inspired by Malibu Red.
Malibu and Ne-Yo’s collaboration aims to redefine brand partnerships, and the beverage experience one has while enjoying a night out on the town. Taking the relationship beyond the board room, Malibu Red is Ne-Yo’s official tour sponsor.
