Raven Symone To Star In “Sister Act” Play On Broadway

We all remember Raven Symone as the little shorty on The Cosby Show to having a self titled Disney show “That’s So Raven.” The 26 year old is all grown up now and she decided to take her talent to Broadway. The popular movie from the 90’s, Sister Act will be hitting the Broadway theater on March 27th. She’ll be playing the role of Deloris Van Cartier, formally played by Patina Miller. Raven told the Associated Press recently that the work has been nothing but hard work, with rehearsals taking place everyday for long period of time.

“I was definitely one of the audience members dancing in the aisles,” she says. “I think it’s a wonderfully scored and directed and written musical. I’m very excited to be part of this.”

This won’t be the actress’ first time on the big stage. When she was five, she did a guest appearance with “The Boys Choir of Harlem.” She still considers “Sister Act” as her debut.

“I want to do stuff I haven’t done before. I did it at 5 but I don’t remember that, obviously. So I want to do it for real — a big, crowd-pleasing show as well as working with these great people.”
