Kanye West is ruffling feathers on the runway, and at the Lanesborough Hotel — around the corner from Buckingham Palace.
It seems Sir Ye has made quite the impression on members of the Royal Family, and it’s not a good one either. Since taking up residence on the top floor of the hotel, the rapper and designer has turned his rooms into a makeshift atelier. Ever the consummate businessman Kanye set up design workshops, and mini music studios in each of his rooms. Three days ago West debuted his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week.
If Kanye was only working silently; and not entertaining a large entourage including friends Pusha T, Big Sean, and Common things would have gone over swimmingly. However, after Big Sean’s statement to UK newspaper The Sun, one can see why the royals got their knickers in a bunch.
Kanye’s protégé Big Sean said: “We went to London and we were right next to the Buckingham Palace and the Royal Family. There were members of the Royal Family staying below us.
“Kanye had rented out the top floor and we was banging that bitch out.
“Every room was a studio. The Royal Family below were complaining like, ‘We got all this loud-ass rap music above us and weed smoke.’
“They paid all this money and you don’t expect to get these kind of complaints.”
Do you believe Kanye was being disrespectful, or was the royal family hating because they weren’t invited to partake in the festivities. After all, if you’re going to have a party and don’t want complaints, you always invite the neighbors.
While the Royal Family complains, it’s important to point out British taxpayers are financing their stay at the hotel where suites can run upwards of $4,233 per night. If anyone should be up in arms it should be the Brits who are footing the bill.
Stay tuned for more.
