BLAK

Normally, when you think of Hip Hop from Texas, Scarface UGK & such others come to mind. Right? But take pure passion, soul, lyricism, intensity and a delivery as strong as the 19-year-old Mike Tyson KO punch and you have something amazing. BLAK is a south Dallas Hip Hop artist that is so versatile that if he was an actor he would be Samuel L. Jackson.

With delivery that would put your grandma to sleep & lyrics that would make you want to step on a black man’s sneakers in the club, BLAK is a very dangerous controversial artist, similar to the West Coast rebel, Game, as most would say. It seems that BLAK naturally separates himself from the usual Dallas artist. The way he presents issues like poverty, life and issues of his generation makes you want to hang on every word, he says, “anticipating his new words.”

Most would put him up against today’s up & coming artists: Wiz Khalifa, J.Cole, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Lil B….just to name a few. You ask yourself, where has an artist with the perfect combination of talent & hunger been?

“I’d like to think of my situation as The Perfect Storm,” he says. I’ve been brewing & developing everything about my craft for a long time. I wasn’t ready a year ago. I took my time, continued to work hard & remained patient. I knew that a the perfect time I’d be approached by the right people & put into my perfect situation. And when that time comes…my name & my music will be a force to reckon with.”

Its artists like BLAK that makes me wish that more conscious rap was flooding the Dallas radio airwaves. However, BLAK has the city of Dallas behind him and he will not stop until his voice, his stories and his life is heard throughout the world. He is deemed “Next Up” & plans to share his universal influence with the world…his music.
