Funny-man Martin Lawrence could be making his comedic comeback to television in the near future.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has decided to give the actor/comedian the go-ahed for his new sitcom where he is set to play the role of a widower and father of two teens.
Check out the rest of the story after the break:
The show’s premise is on Lawrence’s trial as a single father where after losing his construction job, he decides to enroll into the police academy to become a cop at the age of 46.
The show, yet to be named, will be produced by the “$#*! My Dad Says” duo, Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger. Their previous show, “How to be a Gentleman” was pulled shortly after airing early this season.
If Lawrence’s show is picked up for a full run, this would be the comedian’s first return to television since his hit show “Martin” ended in 1997.
Of course MSDTV will keep you posted. Stay Tuned.
