Rapper and philanthropist Jay-Z is the latest musician to join The Water Tank Project.
The landmark project which kicks off in 2013 aims to raise awareness of water as a precious resource. For twelve weeks select water tanks above New York City buildings will be wrapped in the artwork of scientists, musicians, artists, and several NYC residents.
Artists Ed Ruscha, Marilyn Minter, and Fab5Freddy are among some of the more familiar names associated with The Water Tank Project. The project, presented by Word Above the Street will reach millions via the inclusion of social media, apps, and multimedia tools.
In addition to raising awareness with The Water Tank Project, Word Above the Street wants “New York City to look up again, to dream big, to feel proud, to do something, to create, to share, to believe.”
Stay tuned for more.
