Daddy’s Girl: Karen Gravano’s ‘Mob Daughter’ Book Party at Greenhouse in NYC |PHOTOS|

MSDTV was straight mobbing on February 15 at “Mob Wives” star Karen Gravano’s launch party for her controversial “Mob Daughter” book at Greenhouse in New York City.

It was Karen Gravano’s night to shine as she hosted a fete for her new tell-all, “Mob Daughter.” Gravano, the daughter of former mafia hitman, turned state witness Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano chronicled growing up Mafia style. While “Sammy  the Bull” was feared by those who dealt with the Mafia, he was loved by his daughter Karen, and his family. At the age of 19 Gravano’s world was shattered when her father cooperated with the federal government. Sammy Gravano confessed to multiple murders and testified against many high-ranking members of the Mafia. Gravano’s father went to prison, and she moved to Arizona under the watchful eye of the Federal Witness Protection Program. After 10 years away from the place she called home Gravano moved back to Staten Island, New York. This was no easy feat since the mere mention of her father’s name still conjures feelings of bad blood.

“Mob Daughter: The Mafia, Sammy “The Bull” Gravano, and Me!” was written with the aid of Lisa Pulitzer. Pulitzer co-wrote “Portrait of a Monster: Joran van der Sloot, a Murder in Peru,” and the “Natalie Holloway Mystery” with Cole Thompson. Therefor, crime and mystery are not new to the former “New York Times” correspondent. When asked about writing with Pulitzer, Gravano gushed “she [Pulitzer] captured my life perfectly, I couldn’t have asked for a better writer. She really got my story across; just the way I wanted it to be.”

Several of Gravano’s cast mates joined  the celebration including her outspoken cousin Ramona Rizzo, Renee Graziano and Angela “Big Ang” Raiola. Carla Facciolo and Drita D’avanzo were noticeably absent. However, that didn’t stop the party — which was being filmed by VH1. Word has it Pauly D was present but we didn’t get a glimpse of the recent 50 Cent signee, and “Jersey Shore” cast member.

After heartfelt speeches from Ramona, Karen, and “Mob Wives” creator Jenn Graziano — yes, there is a familial relation; she is Renee Graziano’s sister — the ladies took to dancing on the banquet near the DJ booth. Rizzo, Gravano, Raiola, and Graziano shook a little something as DJ Whoo Kid slayed the audience with tracks like Tyga’s “Rack City,” and Big Sean and Nicki Minaj’s hit song “Dance (Ass).”

Additional guests included Renee’s son A.J. Pagan, and her beau Hector “Junior” Pagan, “Love & Hip Hop” star Erica Mena. The crowd was a mixture of the old and new school. On one side you found Gravano’s friends, and family; on the other side her young fans — mostly media darlings like our own Ms. Drama — danced the night away when they weren’t lining up to take photos with the author, and her “Mob Wives” co-stars.

Gravano is a busy lady; “Mob Daughter” is just the beginning. She’s producing a film based on her family’s life; developing a series about her early days in new York City; and she’ll open a medi-spa with celebrity Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael Fiorillo right on the border of the trendy Soho, and Tribeca neighborhoods in Manhattan.

Karen Gravano is one to watch.

“Mob Daughter” is available online, and in stores now.
