Exclusive: MSDTV Covers The Red Carpet At The 2012 BET Honors | Photos |



On January 14th, the 2012 BET Honors was taped at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The BET Honors recognizes the achievements of African-Americans in several fields including education, media, the arts, service and entertainment. Actress Gabrielle Union hosted the show for the fourth year in a row. “Vampire Diaries” actress Kat Graham served as BET’s special correspondent for the red carpet. One of the many highlights of the night was the appearance of First Lady Michelle Obama who presented an award for literary achievement to poet Maya Angelou.


MSDTV captured a bevy of celebrities and media personalities including host Gabrielle Union, Jesse Jackson, Kat Graham, Solange, Beverly Bond, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Ledisi, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, General Colin Powell, “Red Tails” star Terrence Howard, BET’s Rocsi and TJ Holmes, BET EVP Stephen Hill and so many more on the red carpet.


The 2012 BET Honors  airs during Black History Month on Monday, February 13 at 9:00 PM.

We were extremely excited to meet two Tuskegee Airmen. MSDTV salutes Colonel Charles McGee, Dr. Roscoe C. Brown Jr., and their fellow Tuskegee Airmen. It’s not everyday you meet people who’ve made history and incredible sacrifices for their home land.

Additional honorees include director Spike Lee, poet Maya Angelo, entertainer Mariah Carey, educator Beverly Kearney, Tuskegee Airman William Slade and the internationally renowned musical artist Stevie Wonder.
