Media mogul, Oprah Winfrey is realizing running a entire network isn’t an easy feat. The one-time queen of daytime television, has decided to launch another advertising campaign for her new cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in an attempt to win back lost ratings.

According to recent reports, Oprah will be stepping up her involvement in “Oprah’s Lifeclass”, a nightly program that will resurrect old episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show, in addition to pushing ahead with previous plans for hosting “Oprah’s Next Chapter”, a talk-show set to air in January. As a way to offer fans the “O” experience, Oprah plans to conduct online discussions with viewers over the internet, and in front of a live studio audience.

This new promotional campaign comes just after officials at Discovery Network, OWN’s partner channel, expressed concern that viewers were tuning out because the star on whose name and image OWN is based and marketed on failed to appear often enough on her network.

“With the numbers for OWN being so horrible, Discovery insisted that Ms Winfrey have more of a presence on the network. So they’re scrambling,” a source said to be close to the network told Fox News.

Now, instead of simply providing a voice-over commentary for “Oprah’s Lifeclass”, as originally planned, Ms. Winfrey, 57, will appear on screen.

Ms. Winfrey admitted during a live Internet discussion last month that OWN had not been the easiest of projects to manage. “It’s a lot harder than I ever imagined,” she confessed.

While the relaunch of the network may take it’s toll on the media mogul, Oprah’s new docu-series show, “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s”, may be the helpful balance to get the network’s ratings up. Check out a brief rundown of the new show after the break.

Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s highly-anticipated new family docu-series will premiere this Saturday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT (8 p.m. CT).

The show takes viewers inside the close-knit Montgomery clan from St. Louis as they attempt to balance the daily demands of their lives while expanding the family-owned business. Featuring an African-American cast, Welcome to Sweetie Pie’sis a heartwarming depiction of a hardworking, colorful and loving family, and demonstrates how good food, prepared with love, brings people together from all walks of life.

“Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s features a strong, fun-loving family as they work together to run their St. Louis soul food restaurant. We look forward to viewers welcoming the Montgomery family into their homes,” said Lisa Erspamer, executive vice president, programming and development, OWN.
