Money Can’t Buy Love: Gayle King Gets Sued By Matchmaker For Not Bringing “Oprah”

Gayle King is taking some heat for her “Oprah” connection as the best friend and editor at large of O Magazine, is being sued for not delivering a spot on the award winning show.

According to Orly Hadia, aka Orly the Matchmaker, Gayle was set up with a bunch of “attractive, fit, and wealthy men,” for a complimentary service as long as she could guarantee the matchmaker a spot on Oprah.

In the lawsuit, Orly claims that 2 years ago she made a deal with Gayle to provide her with matchmaking services. Orly waived her $500,000 fee, and in return Gayle promised to get Orly a guest appearance on the show.

Orly says she spent hundreds of hours hooking Gayle up with 5 men who were all match-worthy and that Gayle went on several dates with more than one of them. Unfortunately, according to Orly, Gayle has been persona non grata as Orly explains Gayle never made good on her end of the bargin.

Realizing Oprah’s show was coming to an end Orly says she sent Gayle an email, saying “since she clearly wasn’t going to appear on Oprah she wanted to get paid”.

At this time, Gayle’s rep had no comment.

Yikes. I guess Gayle took her friend with benefits card too far with this one – someone’s going to have to pay up – and soon. O_0
