TV News: ABC Family Gives Raven Symone The Boot And Cancels “State of Georgia”

Life hasn’t been a peach, for “State of Georgia” actress Raven Symone. Her 30-minute sitcom was officially cancelled this week after only 4 episodes due to lack of viewership, says ABC.

The short lived ABC Family sitcom centered around Symone as an aspiring actress who leaves the South to become a big star and essentially learns the trials and errors of the big city.

The cancellation comes on the heels of a string of notable flops, including the movie (“College Road Trip”), an short-term “pajama party” stadium tour and a low-selling album. In the ABC Family show, Raven-Symone continued much of her comedic antics as similar in “That’s So Raven,” one of the longest-running hits on the Disney Channel.

In an interview with The L.A. Times in July to promote the series, the actress came across irritated, downplaying her career blunders and refusing to discuss her weight loss. “I lost the weight by accident,” she had said bluntly.

Hopefully the young actress can get it together for another show. Of course, MSDTV will keep you posted.
