Mid-Week Round-up: Details on T.I.’s New Freedom + Tupac’s Ashes Went Up In Smoke?

Well rapper T.I. has a lot to celebrate today. As of 7:29 this morning, Clifford Harris became a free man – well more like a free man under the supervision of local Arkansas law enforcement.

T.I. served a total of 11 months after his September 2010 arrest in L.A. for getting caught with cocaine and other substances. His scheduled 1 year sentence stemmed from a probation violation from a September 2009 felony conviction for illegal weapons.

T.I. is currently being held at a local community facility– a transition place for newly released inmates, until his official time is up.

In response to his newly found freedom, T.I. offered his thoughts via Twitter:

Feels great to be back where I belong…Back in the arms of those who need me the most.

The storm is over da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!

In anticipation of T.I.’s  release, Tiny & Toya tweeted yesterday:

@TinyMajorMama: Ya No! Thx T RT @ToyaWright: So happy for my big sis @TinyMajorMama and the Fam…my big brother @Tip we be FREE Tomorrow!☺

Hopefully T.I. treads very lightly – and stays out of trouble. The streets are watching TIP!

And check out some SMH news after the break:

VladTv.com offered an exclusive interview with members of the Outlawz (Tupac’s former group) who claimed they smoked Tupac’s ashes at a family memorial event with his mother present. SMH.

Now TMZ.com reports that the Outlawz may be telling a tall tale as a family spokesperson states:

Tupac Shakur’s mother would “never participate in smoking her son”.

According to the family spokesperson no one in the Shakur family ever signed off on the Pac’s ashes being smoked, especially his mother, Afeni.

The family rep tells TMZ:

The Shakurs simply don’t know if there’s any truth to the claims made by the Outlawz — but if they DID smoke Tupac, they “would have had to sneak the remains past the family member in charge of keeping an eye on the ashes at the memorial.”

SMH. I have a feeling the Outlawz were extremely high during that entire episode.
