(Former) power couple,  Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have announced their divorce after 7 years of marriage.

J. Lo and Anthony released a statement to People.com, saying:

“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

The couple wed in June of 2004, and have two 3-year old twin children together, Max and Emme.  The pair were both married previous to jumping the broom in ’04 – Lopez, to restaurateur Ojani Noa, (the guy trying to sell secret love tapes between him and Jennifer), in addition to back-up dancer Cris Judd.  Anthony, married to ex-Puerto Rican “Miss Universe” Dayanara Torres; with whom he has two children with.  The separation between Anthony and Torres was very public, ending with his marriage to Jen shortly afterwards.

Rumors began circulating that the couple were caught in unsteady waters, when Lopez showed up to the BAFTA gala on July 9th without Anthony – instead, bringing her mother, Guadalupe, to the affair (in attendance were Prince William & Kate).

J. Lo and Marc Anthony lived extremely active lives in the public eye – taking care of their careers, while also maintaining a family.  J. Lo was recently hailed as People Mag’s “Most Beautiful” of 2011, as well as taking a lead role on the panel of American Idol.  Anthony is a limited owner of the Miami Dolphins, and is also (currently) working on a reality show with his soon to be ex-wife, called “Q ‘Viva! The Chosen” which celebrates the art and culture of Latin America by showcasing  authentic talent from the region.
