Rumor has it Beyonce and Jay-Z have named the queen of all media Oprah Winfrey as Blue Ivy’s godmother. We’re going to hold off on jumping for joy since we didn’t fall for the “Jay-Z drops ‘bitch’ from his rhymes” hoax. However, we’re hoping the story is absolutely true.

Winfrey’s first gift to baby Blue was a trunk of children’s books. What a fitting gift from the fairy godmother of the book industry. We dare say her book club introduced the joy of reading to Americans.

Fans on Facebook speculate Jay-Z will name famed investor Warren Buffet Blue Ivy’s godfather. This would make Blue Ivy the most powerful goddaughter in the world.

Kelly Rowland is ready to “forgive” her father over this holiday season. The singer, who has not seen her father, Christopher Lovett, since she was seven-years-old, says she is ready to spend some time with him during the Christmas holiday.

In an interview with the UK version of ‘The X Factor’, which will air tomorrow, Kelly says:

“It’s really important just to forgive my father. I want to meet him this Christmas, because now is the time, because tomorrow’s not promised to us.”

Kelly is a mentor to the girls on “The X Factor” and will be seen talking to Misha B, who has suffered similar emotional problems after being abandoned by her mother as a baby. Kelly’s mother walked out on her father when he started to abuse alcohol after losing his job.

“I think it’s important to forgive people and we move on, we have to,” Kelly says on the show. “The pain is there, of course it will be there, and it’s important to know that forgiveness is the first step towards healing it all.”

Christopher, 65, reached out to Kelly earlier this year, asking for forgiveness and saying he wanted to finally step up and be a father to her. Christopher explained his actions during her childhood:

“Kelly, I love you with all my heart. Please forgive me and let me be your dad again. I lost my job at a transportation company, sank into a depression about money and began drinking more and more. The failure to provide for my family fuelled an anger that I will be ashamed of until my dying day. It wasn’t physical between me and Kelly’s mom, but there were many days and nights when Kelly would be bawling her eyes out. I really hoped I would get to make it up to her. Sadly I am still waiting for that day. But I can’t give up hope,” he said.

While Kelly admits she is happy to hear from her father after so long, she adds that it would have been better to have been more discreet in trying to contact her.

“He reached out to me, saying he wanted to see me but it’s unfortunate he did it so publicly,” she said.

Kelly Rowland has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of America in light of their “Be Ready” initiative an effort which prepares students for the beginning of school in fall.

On August 4^th the “motivational” singer was spotted wearing a royal blue cap and gown at the Boys and Girl’s Club s leading ‘Back-to-School Season’ kick-off event. During an apparence on NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ Rowland discussed her participation with the national organization:

“Last year more than a million students nationally failed to graduate with a high school diploma. For me, I just think about my god kids and I think about myself being a student and how hard it was as a kid. It’s not just about education. It’s just about being a kid, period, and knowing that there’s a huge world out here of opportunity. And I don’t want to see anybody miss out on an opportunity.”

Yesterday, July 2^nd Beyoncé was noticed on set of her forthcoming music video ‘Party,’ featured off of her latest hit album, “4” (which has already gone platinum!). Although the track highlights vocals from entertainers, Kanye West and Outkast’s Andree 3000, the “party” really got started once Bey was alongside her sister, Solange and former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland. Location of choice -Oakdale Mobile Home Park in South Brunswick, New Jersey. These fierce ladies must have put on quite a show for the local onlookers.

Hip-Hop Mogul, Diddy found “motivation” in R&B marvel, Kelly Rowland dubbing her spokesmodel for his new women’s fragrance, ‘Empress.’ The perfume is the female answer to Diddy’s flourishing cologne for men, “I Am King.” Rowland told Access Hollywood, “Yeah, I’m the new ambassador for ‘Empress’; I just love what ‘Empress’ represents. Its just women that are beautiful and powerful in their own right.” The highly anticipated scent will be available exclusively at Macy’s department stores nationwide beginning in August. Last night on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,’ Kelly Rowland performed her No. 1 summer sensation, “Motivation.” Looking as sexy as ever, Rowland spiced up a crème-colored pantsuit with an exposed bra. Accompanied by a group of male dancers, Rowland closed her performance of the night with some killer choreography!

I’m in London now. I’m out here because [Amy and I] were supposed to go to a wedding today. And before I could get to her yesterday she passed. We were going to the wedding of Nick Symansky, who is the person who really found her. He found her when he was a scout at 19. And he was the manager before they got the Universal deal.

They went ahead with the wedding. All I could do was sit there and imagine how many jokes she would have been cracking with me. We were in the middle of working on the album. She finished writing the record. We just hadn’t recorded.

For the last couple of weeks we were video chatting regularly. I was just talking to Nas. Both her and Nas were born on September 14, so we were going to Barbados with all of them for her birthday. She really doesn’t look forward to her birthday, you know what I’m saying?

Universal recording artist, Kelly Rowland, debuted her anticipated third studio album, Here I Am on Tuesday, and brought along a few celeb guests for her release party in New York City last night.

The singer was spotted yesterday, jumping from Planet Hollywood in Times Square to BET’s 106 and Park, in efforts to spread the word about her new solo album hitting stores – a great achievement for Kelly, as she gets acclimated with her new family over at Universal Motown.  The night ended with her album release party at the top of  The Standard Hotel in NYC’s meatpacking district.  The event included guest appearances from her former group mates, Beyonce and Michelle Williams, in addition to, Big Sean, Estelle, and a host of others.
