If you haven’t watched the last four seasons of Showtime’s raucous comedy “Californication,” you have been missing the insane hijinks of David Duchovny (X-Files) as writer Hank Moody. Hands down, Hank Moody is the baddest White man in town and he just keeps on getting worse … and that’s a good thing. Season 4 ended with a bang — several to be exact — many were literal. Hank left for New York after being rocked by a sex scandal, the juggling of three women; a young actress, an old flame and … his lawyer, and trying to mend his relationship with his ex-wife and teen daughter.

Season 5 picks up as Hank returns to California after three years. His wife has remarried, his daughter is grown up and dating a guy who’s a lot like Hank (READ: trouble). RZA joins the cast as Samurai Apocalypse; a hip hop mogul who seeks out Hank to write a screenplay. A major player in the industry is not complete without a lovely female companion which is where Meagan Good comes in as Kali, a singer with a very close connection to her mentor. If you’ve been a devotee of the show you know where all of this leads. However, if you’ve been slacking, you’ll have to catch up here, watch it On Demand or wait for the first episode of the new season.

“Californication” premieres Sunday, January 8 on Showtime.

Prepare to be scared out of your pants once again. Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” arrives in theaters on June 8, 2012. The film is loosely tied to the “Alien” franchise. Charlize Theron,  Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Michael Fassbinder are the leads in what is sure to be a sci-fi blockbuster.

Bridget Kelly visited the “What’s Trending” studios in LA yesterday and performed her new single “Seek and Destroy” live for both their in studio and streaming audiences.

Talk show host Wendy Williams got the official queen of all media’s attention recently as Oprah send Wendy a letter clarifying her and BFF Gayle’s relationship.

After Gayle King left her show on OWN to become the host of the new, reformatted CBS morning show, Wendy Williams questioned if King left due to some behind-the-scenes drama between her and Oprah.

She delivered a monologue urging the longtime friends to remember the good times and stay close, reports AOLTV.

And Oprah, who rarely responds to rumors – sent a letter to Wendy, reassuring her that she and Gayle are still best friends.

Wendy read a copy of the letter yesterday on the show and joked that she was keeping the original in a locked vault in her office.

“There is only happiness for Gayle and this wonderful opportunity,” the letter explained. The letter ended with “Love, Oprah,”  which Wendy added her own post-script: “stay black.”

Last night proved to be a monumental night for hip-hop as the 2012 GRAMMY Nominations Live Concert showcased some of hip-hop’s finest and had Kanye West leading the nomination pack with 7 nods.

LL Cool J hosted the concert live at the Nokia Theatre in L.A., with help from Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry. The trio introduced viewers to performances by Rihanna, Usher and Ludacris while they counted down the 2012 Grammy nominees.

Rapper Kanye West leads in nominations with 7 nods including his Song of the Year nomination for “All of the Lights” and best rap performance with Jay-Z for “Otis.”

Interestingly Ye’s nominated against himself, with Watch the Throne and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy nabbing Rap Album of the Year nods.

Adele received 6 nomination while Lil Wayne and Rihanna both picked up five. Bruno Mars received three nods and Nicki Minaj is up for best new artist along with J Cole. Beyonce, who most expected to be on the forerunners — only received two nominations this year (Best Long Form Video and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration).

BET announced yesterday that their popular sitcom, The Game will be back for it’s fifth season on January 10, 2010.

For fans of the show, the season will pick up with Tia Mowry Hardrict and her “drama-filled life” as the wife of a professional football player (Pooch Hall).

“The Game” debuted on BET for its fourth season with huge numbers for network in January, drawing 7.7 million viewers. This makes it the best showing for the series on cable and broadcast ever, and BET’s most-watched telecast.

The comedy, created by Mara Brock Akil, was canceled by the CW after three seasons in May 2009, where it was averaging 2 million viewers. BET decided to pick up the show in 2010 after fans and viewers reached out to the network.
