The Christmas season may last an entire month, but a soulful holiday line up like tonight only comes once a year on BET.

With that in mind, this year’s BET’s annual holiday special, A VERY BET CHRISTMAS premiers at 8pm.

This one-hour primetime special will feature Christmas memories and musical performances by Robin Thicke, Kurtis Blow, Mindless Behavior, Monica, Lloyd, Kurtis Blow, Jacob Latimore and BET’s Music Matters artist, Elle Varner.   A VERY BET CHRISTMAS will also world premiere “When Christmas Comes,” Mariah Carey and John Legend’s latest holiday video.

Listen up! Frankie Lons; famous for being R&B songstress Keyshia Cole’s mom and a reality television star has a book debuting online on December 20th. “The Best Years I Never Had” is an inspirational tome chronicling Frankie’s addiction to drugs, prostitution, incarceration and single parenthood. Through telling her story, Frankie encourages readers not to let the past hold them back. She offers real world advice for women stuck in a dangerous cycle.

But wait … there’s more! Frankie is also the host of the live show “Frankie Diggin’ Deep” on USTREAM.TV and will  appear on a “where are they now special” of VH1′s “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Revisited” airing on December 11th.

In addition to Lons’ book and show, her vibrant single “Frankie Leg,” is going to be a hit at African-American weddings for years to come. Family members of all ages can get down to moves including the “tip toe” and “old folk.”

Wedding planner and star of WE tv’s MY FAIR WEDDING – David Tutera rounded up an east coast press tour this week that included stops in both New York and Atlanta.

On Tuesday, December 6th — Tutera screened an upcoming episode of his popular wedding makeover show at Pranna Restaurant for 50 NYC media and VIPs that included PEOPLE, NY Times, Associated Press, STAR, National Enquirer, EBONY/JET, Juicy, ESSENCE and of course, Ms. Drama of MSDTV.

The next day, Tutera  went down to the ATL to entertain Atlanta press for an intimate dinner and screening at 103 West with CNN, Bossip, V103, KISS 104, AJC, Rolling Out, Cadillac Kim, SIR, BE-Entertained Mag, EURWeb and tv star/stylist Dwight Eubanks.

All attendees in both locations, were given a DVD copy of the best of MFW — Weddings WE Love: My Fair Wedding with David Tutera – and a rhinestone pin from Bridal Collection by David Tutera.

 “Sharing my experience on MY FAIR WEDDING at these dinners has really been a lot of fun,” said Tutera during the post-screening Q&A. “I love seeing people’s reaction to the show, especially this season. We have some great brides with some truly, amazing stories.  It’s our best season yet!”

According to the Wall Street Journal, Russell Simmons is ready to take a stand against what he feels is not portrayed well on television as American Culture. He states:

“Television landscape needs an integrated channel that better reflects American culture. Networks are a little slow in how mainstream culture is shifting. There’s a lack of integration in Hollywood, and I want to address that.”

The entrepreneur is taking his new business venture very seriously and is looking to buy a TV network at this moment, He feels his channel will be the exact meaning of diverse and not the typical segregated channels. Simmons stated at a Charity event in Hong Kong:

“Networks are a little slow in how mainstream culture is shifting. There’s a lack of integration in Hollywood, and I want to address that.””

This household name has decided that he wants to be known for more than just Def Jam Records and Phat Farm and is taking his empire to another level. During the Charity event in Hong Kong he also revealed that he will be working with the infamous Brian Grazer and Ron Howard on a television project. Russell Simmons has promised a formal announcement about his up and coming project soon. Stay tuned.

50 Cent has been going through a on going battle with the courts about copyright issues.But fortunately for him the battle is over and the case is dismissed.

This particular lawsuit dealt with “Before I Self Destruct,” a feature film that includes Fiddy’s 2009 album that has the same name.50 Cent was accused of stealing some key phrases in a 2008 book, “The Preacher’s Son – But the Streets Turned Me Into a Gangster,” written by Shadrach Winstead.

Here’s what a representative said about the lawsuit:

“With respect to the various specific phrases and lines which Winstead alleged that our client took from the book, we demonstrated that many were misquoted, manipulated or not in the movie at all and that, in any event, they were non-copyrightable short phrases or unpredictable expressions used in the ‘street’ such as ‘get the dope, cut the dope,’”

In a new video by Atlantic recording artist Musiq Soulchild, the R & B singer uses his role as a breast cancer ambassador to highlight the women who have survived the deadly disease.

Soulchild, who was recently signed on as one of the ambassadors for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Circle of Promise — “a movement designed to further engage black women around the globe in the fight against breast cancer” is offering his fans a real life depiction of being a survivor and supporting one in his upcoming video “Yes”.

The video “Yes” which will be from Soulchild’s sixth studio album, MUSIQINTHEMAGIQ, features Musiq as a man who loves and supports his girlfriend through her battle with breast cancer and a group of survivors who come out to embrace the couple’s journey.
