In the interview, Montana talks about his Cocaine City imprint and the future of DVDs for artists. He explains his recent conversation with Max B and why his (upcoming?) release will be epic for hip-hop. Montana also talks on clearing the air with Dipset and why he’s a big fan of Emily from Love & Hip-Hop.

On January 14th, the 2012 BET Honors was taped at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The BET Honors recognizes the achievements of African-Americans in several fields including education, media, the arts, service and entertainment. Actress Gabrielle Union hosted the show for the fourth year in a row. “Vampire Diaries” actress Kat Graham served as BET’s special correspondent for the red carpet. One of the many highlights of the night was the appearance of First Lady Michelle Obama who presented an award for literary achievement to poet Maya Angelou.

MSDTV captured a bevy of celebrities and media personalities including host Gabrielle Union, Jesse Jackson, Kat Graham, Solange, Beverly Bond, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Ledisi, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, General Colin Powell, “Red Tails” star Terrence Howard, BET’s Rocsi and TJ Holmes, BET EVP Stephen Hill and so many more on the red carpet.

MSDTV secured an exclusive interview with Kandi Burruss, the sweetheart of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA). As reported earlier, Kandi has been having a phenomenal year. She’s a break out reality star, successful producer and entrepreneur. Kandi was her usual bubbly self and didn’t shy away from answering tough questions. Kandi let us in on new ventures, the secret to keeping focused while on reality television and much more.

Kandi on New Apps
On the heels of the successful Kandi Koated Spades, — currently ranked #4 on iTunes’ Top Paid iPhone Card Apps — Kandi will produce additional apps with C.J. Peters and Marcus Matthews of Konsole Kingz. Soon, they’ll launch new games familiar to urban audiences, with technological innovations.

Kandi and the Konsole Kingz team are planning to visit several colleges including prominent HBCUs in early 2012 to promote Kandi Koated Spades.

In addition to working with Konsole Kingz, Kandi plans to create an app complimentary to the Happiness & Joy dual-stimulation vibrator from her Bedroom Kandi line of intimate toys. The vibrator wirelessly stimulates the user to the beat of music.

New and Existing Projects
Recently, Kandi shot a pilot for Bravo’s The Kandi Factory; a special where Burruss aims transform amateur entertainers into genuine stars:

“With her breakout personality and straightforward attitude, Bravo fans have grown to love Kandi on The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Bravo’s VP of Development Eli Lehrer says. “The Kandi Factory will capture a unique look at her successful music career as Kandi transforms two music hopefuls into the next big pop star.”

Apparently, pop star hopefuls have been bombarding Burruss for help in launching their musical careers. On the special, the Grammy-winning housewife will choose two performers who will come to Atlanta and learn the basics for music stardom from Burruss and her team.

Since Bedroom Kandi has been receiving rave reviews and is nominated for AVN’s Best Overall Sex Toy Line Award, Kandi aims to grow the brand by offering consumers the opportunity to be home party consultants.  Think Avon for the sexy set.

Also, she’s the executive producer of a new show where she is not featured on the front end.

Staying Focused in the World of Reality Television
Kandi is a successful reality television star because she stays focused on her family and business endeavors. Her ability to promote relevant projects was a major factor when deciding whether or not to appear on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kandi says, “I’ll stop doing the show when I have nothing left to promote.”

Business Advice and RHOA Cast Members
When asked if she’s given business advice to other RHOA cast members, Kandi answered in the affirmative. While some cast members do ask, there are others who seem a bit proud; “I’ve given advice to some of the ladies but others act like they don’t want to ask.”

Getting Started in the Adult Toy Industry
Being an intelligent business woman, Kandi asked female sexual health expert, Dr. Laura Berman how she got her start in the sex toy industry and moved on from that point.
