Honorees Roberta Flack and Mona Scott-Young

MSDTV joined some of New York’s movers and shakers as R&B legend Roberta Flack, former Violator Records President and Monami Entertainment founder Mona Scott-Young and recording artist Anthony Hamilton were honored by Assemblyman Keith Wright and Senator Bill Perkins on December 13th. Flack, Scott-Young and Hamilton were honored for being trendsetters and innovators in the music and entertainment fields by Inspired In New York.

The event was held at Tony Award winner George Faison’s Faison Firehouse Theater. The theater is home to the American Performing Arts Collaborative (APAC), a non-for-profit founded by Faison.

Chevrolet, popchips, Sister 2 Sister, Grand Touring Vodka, the CME Group, Lez Play Radio, the Harlem Brewing Company, the International Festival Network, Promotional Pro, Mega Management and the Faison Firehouse sponsored the event.

Last night, OR-G Liqueur and the Alisa Maria Collection hosted a private dinner in NYC for Emily B of VH1’s “LOVE & HIP HOP.” Esteemed members of the press packed the Lounge at Veranda Restaurant & Lounge to celebrate Emily’s new spread in the upcoming issue of Pynk Magazine and get a chance to question Emily. Said Publisher and Associate Publisher De’Von Johnson and Mecca Moore (who lead a congratulatory toast ): “Emily represents everything Pynk is, She’s pretty, powerful and provocative ”

Notables in the building included; Recording Artist Teairra Mari, and Roc Nation’s Bridget Kelly,  The Winter Issue of Pynk Magazine hits newsstands New Years Day!

Wedding planner and star of WE tv’s MY FAIR WEDDING – David Tutera rounded up an east coast press tour this week that included stops in both New York and Atlanta.

On Tuesday, December 6th — Tutera screened an upcoming episode of his popular wedding makeover show at Pranna Restaurant for 50 NYC media and VIPs that included PEOPLE, NY Times, Associated Press, STAR, National Enquirer, EBONY/JET, Juicy, ESSENCE and of course, Ms. Drama of MSDTV.

The next day, Tutera  went down to the ATL to entertain Atlanta press for an intimate dinner and screening at 103 West with CNN, Bossip, V103, KISS 104, AJC, Rolling Out, Cadillac Kim, SIR, BE-Entertained Mag, EURWeb and tv star/stylist Dwight Eubanks.

All attendees in both locations, were given a DVD copy of the best of MFW — Weddings WE Love: My Fair Wedding with David Tutera – and a rhinestone pin from Bridal Collection by David Tutera.

 “Sharing my experience on MY FAIR WEDDING at these dinners has really been a lot of fun,” said Tutera during the post-screening Q&A. “I love seeing people’s reaction to the show, especially this season. We have some great brides with some truly, amazing stories.  It’s our best season yet!”

Atlanta’s own Roscoe Dash made a special appearance this past Thursday (December 1st) as he sat down with select media and tastemakers to preview his upcoming EP entitled J.U.I.C.E.

Jungle Studios offered a quaint setting as the 21-year-old Dash showcased his upcoming EP, dropping December 20th, with features from Big Sean, Waka Focka, and Kanye West to name a few. For true fans of  hip-hop bangers – J.U.I.C.E. will undoubtedly be a must listen.

MSDTV attended an exclusive launch party for Dee and Ricky’s limited edition Casio G-Shock watch at Trinity Place in New York City. Hundreds of guests including media, watch collectors, stylists and fashion nerds jockeyed for space in the swanky restaurant space, located inside an old bank vault. Long before the twins collaborated with G-Shock, they were making waves in high fashion thanks to creating accessories for Marc Jacobs in 2008. Playing with Lego® blocks has certainly paid off for these innovative, young designers.

MSDTV had a chance to interview downtown’s sweetheart Va$htie, who told us why she stepped out to support Dee and Ricky:

“I’ve known Dee and Ricky for almost 10 years and I love them. I want to support whatever they do. Kids have a lot to learn from them. It’s great to be a part of something so iconic as them having their own Casio.”

MSDTV was in the building for the Braxton Family Values premier last night in New York where media and tastemakers got an exclusive preview of the first full episode of season 2.

Arriving fashionably late, the Braxtons (minus Toni) came out in support of their hit show which premieres tomorrow (Nov. 10) on WE tv. The network’s own senior VP of production, John Miller was on hand to intro the screening and of course the lovely sisters who were ready to break down their family “drama” in the Q & A session right after the show.

According to the Braxtons, there will be plenty of fireworks and family drama in this upcoming season. Of course after watching the first episode, MSDTV co-signs their statement as the first show was definitely “explosive”.
