Red Carpet: Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club Grand Reopening |Photos|

Posted by Graham On January - 19 - 2012

Last night it was a veritable who’s who in hip hop, sports and reality television on the red carpet at the reopening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City. Luxury cars and SUVs with tinted windows didn’t stop coming down the blocked off street. One Maybach made its way too.

Jay-Z, the Yankees’ CC Sabathia, Ashanti, Swizz Beatz, producer Rico Love, Spike Lee,  media personality A.J. Calloway, Wale, models Selita Ebanks and Damaris Lewis, ?uestlove, Jacob the Jeweler, Hot 97′s Angie Martinez and K Foxx, reality television stars Renee Graziano (Mob Wives), Erica Mena and Rich Dollaz (Love and Hip Hop) and Kim G. (The Real Housewives of New Jersey) walked the red carpet.

It was Jay-Z’s night but Ashanti ruled the carpet in a show stopping black gown strategically draped on her gym fresh body. We definitely heard men sing sing a few lines from LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It”.

The biggest surprise of the night? Warren Buffet attended the event. A.J. Calloway jokingly taunted red carpet photographers with a report that a house photographer snapped the legendary investor throwing up the Roc Nation sign as he was flanked by two women. We have yet to see photographic evidence.

UPDATE: We found the photo of Warren Buffet throwing the Roc Nation sign on TMZ.

MSDTV caught the action on the red carpet and Ms. Drama got to rub elbows with many of the guests inside — including Jigga.

Guests sampled the revamped menu with sliders, beef tacos, chicken empanadas and buffalo wings. They washed the delicious food down with an open bar that included the infamous Ace of Spades Champagne.

It was a night of sheer opulence from the red carpet to the rich banquets, big screens and leather walls. The 40/40 Club is the epitome of luxury New York night life.

Today we celebrate the birth of Dr. Marting Luther King, Jr. If Dr. King were alive today he would be proud that his work and that of his contemporaries helped secure a better future for Blacks in America. We as a people have come a long way from shackles, Jim Crow laws and segregation. However, we’re killing ourselves at alarming rates due to disease and violence. Gun violence in particular has plagued our communities for decades and it’s only getting worse. A history of gun violence was not in the legacy MLK, Jr. left for Black people.

Babeland was packed with fans eager to see Kandi, hear gossip from The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, and to purchase goodies from her Bedroom Kandi line.
