Eric Gardner‘s mother Gwen Carr is just one of the people featured in TV One’s new docu-series, Two Sides. I had the pleasure of talking to her and the series’ producer, Julius Tennon a couple weeks ago about the series that examines some of the African-American deaths involving law enforcement.

TV One’s new limited series Two Sides As the title indicates, the series offers “two sides” of the story: the community’s side and the side of law enforcement.
In the first episode, Carr opens up about her son’s 2014 death, where video captured him dying after NYPD officers had him in a choke hold. The incident ignited the “I Can’t Breathe” movement, inspired by his last works before his death.
In addition to Carr’s story, TV One’s series will follow the untimely deaths Ezell Ford, John Crawford and Sandra Bland (tonight) over the next few weeks.
