Clearly, Serena Williams does not #blamedrake for her U.S. Open loss, but it’s safe to say fashionistas worldwide blame him for stealing her shine at her HSN fashion show.
And that’s just the beginning of the drama for this year’s NYFW… Thankfully, we have the full rundown of all the entertaining and juicy gossip bits from those highly anticipated shows…
As seen in the photo above, Drake was said to caused a media circus around himself (not surprised) at Serena’s HSN Signature Statement New York Fashion Week presentation.
According to the Daily News, he had some heated words with the DJ over the music.
Here’s the play by play for those couldn’t get a seat:
Sitting front-row with Anna Wintour, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge at Williams’ show Tuesday, Drake seemed more concerned with the show’s soundtrack, which used his songs, including “Back to Back,” which played during the finale.
Following the show, Drake first went backstage to congratulate Williams, where he was seen kissing her hand. Then, “All of a sudden he came busting out from the backstage into the runway area and approached the DJ,” says a DN spy. “There was an animated discussion and Drake was upset,” the witness continued. ”The DJ kept raising his arms as if to say, ‘It wasn’t my fault.’”
Apparently Drake was upset because the wrong music mix was played during the show. Drake had wanted the clean version of “Back to Back” to play, but the explicit version ended up making the cut.
According to reports, Drake was highly embarrassed as he sat next to Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour. But we all know that after hanging around KimYe – she’s surely unbothered by a few explicit lyrics.
“I played the mix I was given” and “This is what they gave me,” was what the DJ was heard saying to Drake – who was clearly having a hissy fit before he rapper stormed off.
As reported by MSDTV, Williams and Drake have been spending more quality time together since the U.S. Open that gave the memorable hashtag #BlameDrake.
In other news, Kanye West apparently angered some of the models walking in his New York Fashion Week presentation by threatening to sue them if they discuss him or his wife Kim Kardashian. (SMH)
A fashion industry insider tells The Mirror:
“Kanye’s hacked off some really high-profile models by asking them to sign the agreement, particularly because it stated that he could sue them for up to $10 million if they spoke out about him.”
“It’s a ridiculous amount and some models flat out refused. He’s not considered a great talent – everyone knows his show is just a media frenzy, so some girls would rather not be associated with him.”
Ladies – get your check. Kanye, have a seat.
And finally, we are hearing that NeNe Leakes’ trip to New York for Fashion Week has turned out to be a diva-fied one.
Sources tell Radar Online:
NeNe and her husband Gregg Leakes brought along NeNe’s son Brentt, who stole and refused to move from a front row spot belonging to New York Post editor Johnny Oleksinski. When the 16-year-old was asked to move to his assigned seat away from his mother, Leakes went off in a rage.
“She was acting like such a diva,” sources told Radar. “She’s not polite and was being very rude.”
Though Brentt, who NeNe revealed on Twitter is “trying the fashion biz out,” was given another seat in the coveted front row, the Fashion Police guest insisted that her son stay in his stolen spot.
“She told him, ‘No you can sit there. You don’t have to move,’” though he eventually did before the show began.
It looks like the former RHOA star, who seemed clearly fed up with not getting special treatment – is not on an anti-social rampage. The diva refused interviews at the show, was annoyed taking photos with attendees and texted during the entire presentation.
Is this the beginning of the end? We shall see.
