Rihanna may not be the best singer or that great of an actress, but she clearly is not going to let her lack of talent deter her from pursuing her dreams – as she is reported to have signed on for another major motion picture with actor James Franco.

While her debut film Battleship is rumored to have done so bad the studio is holding up its US release, Rihanna is apparently set on continuing her career as an actress as she has already been casted in another movie.

Actor James Franco spilled the beans to MTV on Rihanna’s new role and that he was the initial pick for Rih-Rih’s “We Found Love” video:

From NY Daily News:

Renaissance man and renowned overachiever James Franco revealed in a recent interview with MTV that he was actually set to star opposite songbird and Twitpic aficionado Rihanna in one of her recent music videos.

According to Franco, 34, he was just a heartbeat away from playing the love interest in Rihanna’s video for “We Found Love.”

“She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy,” he told MTV. “I couldn’t do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there’s mutual love between us.”

The R&B singer, 24, ended up casting a Chris Brown look-alike, model Dudley O’Shaughnessy, for the part instead.

Franco, known for his straight-faced turn in comedic videos on the site FunnyOrDie.com, has shown his affection for the singer’s music in the past.

Earlier this month, the actor posted a video to his WhoSay account of him lip-synching to the Barbados beauty’s “You Da One.”

It “didn’t take a lot of work” to lip-synch to her song, he told MTV News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Tuesday. “But I do like Rihanna.”

The singer may even star in his pal Seth Rogan’s upcoming flick “The Apocalypse,” he revealed.

“I think she’s gonna be in the new movie that I’m doing, Seth Rogen’s directorial debut,” he told the outlet. “I think she has a little part in that.”

In the comedy, a cast of bold-faced names play themselves partying it up at Franco’s house when they learn that the apocalypse is coming.

Of course, MSDTV will keep you posted. Stay Tuned.
