Singer/songwriter M.I.A. put out a new single last night, entitled, “27″ – her personal homage to Amy Winehouse (in light of her death, announced early yesterday afternoon). Winehouse joins artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Janis Joplin as those who passed before their time at the tender age of 27; hence M.I.A.’s song title.
