Dee-1 – I Hope They Hear Me Vol. 2 Mixtape

It has been a whirlwind few months for up-and-comer Dee-1. After putting in work for the past couple of years building a slow but steadily-growing fan base around the country, things took off for him after MTV grabbed onto his “Jay, 50 & Weezy” video back in November, adding it to MTV2, MTV Jams and MTVu. The video aired for months, making it onto the Sucker Free Countdown (#16) with no radio support at that time. Since then there has been a great deal of internet support and blog postings, another video added to MTV Jams (“One Man Army” to begin airing soon) and an offer from one of the majors who, for reasons of superstition, shall remain nameless at this time. Awesomely, radio throughout his region has now jumped on the Dee-1 bandwagon recently and added “Jay, 50 & Weezy” just on love. That being said, all this activity had to be leading somewhere….right?
