Exposing the Drama, Reporting Our News

Archive for February, 2011

I want people to know that I live every day like it’s my last, and for that I’m giving you all I have – every time. The emotion in my music is all me – highs and lows, no fabrication or false representations. A lot of times I wear my heart on my sleeve, even if it doesn’t match my outfit. At the end of the day, if you rock with me, I rock with you! Welcome 2 Rushia!

This is the trailer for upcoming web series, “RUSH[ED].’ This web series (premieres on March 1st) is based on the life of hip-hop artist, David Rush, as he deals with the demands of a music career while suffering from a chronic disease. After the cut, download the soundtrack hosted by DJ Whoo Kid.

Hot or Not?: DeShai

Posted by Ricki P. On February - 23 - 2011

I’m not sure if the R & B World is truly ready to embrace this spicy songstress – but 24 year old singer DeShai seems pretty determined to make her impression on it – regardless of the outcome. So with the recent release of her debut singles “Swag” and “Tell Your Girl Im Your Girl Tonight” this Houston native is all about showing her “grown and sexy” side.

Check out her latest release: Gotta Go (song)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Catch up with DeShai on www.DeShaiOnline.com. It’s Now or Never, the debut album drops on 8.23.11.

Since the purchase of my flip cam almost 2 years ago, I have been on the proverbial mission to document all that is Ms. Drama. Surprisingly, those moments have led to some of the most exclusive and intimate conversations with artists, celebrities, moguls and the like. I never became Ms. Drama for the flashing lights, but to create a lane of opportunity when the doors weren’t exactly open for a personality that couldn’t essentially be fit in a box. My background is journalism, but my personality strives to expose the hidden story (as uncomfortable as it may be) through humor, a little sarcasm, and more often than not a good amount of tactfulness that is often swept under the rug by the brand of Ms. Drama.

Nevertheless, with flipcam in hand, I continue to document the world of “drama” in hopes that the appropriate platform will rise to the challenge of housing such a brand. Yet, with that thought – can this brand truly be housed?

PHOTOS: SACHINKA FALL 2011 FASHION SHOW – THE AWAKING OF A SWAN?

Posted by MsDrama On February - 20 - 2011

So New York fashion week descended upon us with a gambit of pseudo-fashionable people and shows. In the midst of the stilettos, wool coats and men with purses, I managed to get caught at an emerging designer’s fashion show. The Sachinka Twins (To-Tam & To-Nya), as they call themselves, are a dynamic duo, who apparently believe in the importance of feathers, glittery material and shoulder pads. Although a little skeptical with their incessant soundtrack of Kanye songs and bird imagery, the show ended up being truly, a Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Posted by Ricki P. On February - 17 - 2011

Waka Flocka & his entourage’s tour bus got shot up yesterday afternoon during their stay in Charlotte. Four shots got fired, to which the favor was returned by Waka’s security who let off at the assailants, hitting at least one of the alleged shooters & a few were detained.

To all you Waka Flocka Flame fans, he’s doing fine. Here’s what he had to say via twitter:

To my fans N world im good nothing is wrong with my health see yall in Cali for all-star #imonerealassperson

You may remember this classic interview between Ms.Drama & Waka, addressing the shooting he was involved in about a year ago. If not, it’s available after the cut.

During the interview, Sutton opens up about the drugs and when they started and Dep’s “enablers” during this time. She talks about her and the family’s struggle to get him on track and the meeting that the label and Puff had with him. Sutton touches on the their twin boys and how Dep’s abuse has affected them.
